Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. [2][3] The range of her music from the beginning was described as "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". She has also used elements from hip-hop electronic music, as well as rock. The songs she sings often speak to the themes of science fiction and feminists. She has released five studio albums. Grimes was born and raised in Vancouver in the early 1990s, before moving to Montreal at the age of 2000. Grimes started releasing her music as a solo act in the early 2000s. two albums came out through Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa in 2010. In 2012, Visions is her 3rd studio release. Grimes signed with 4AD. Visions features the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" as well as the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in 2015. The album was praised from reviewers and numerous journals voted it as the top album. 6.
